Rob Adamson – Treasurer
I think it's extremely important to participate in the community in which I live. Volunteering with FoF is one way for me to make a difference." Rob is known to say in board meetings "We're in this for the long run" suggesting that as members of an all-volunteer community non-profit, it is important to balance the long list of community initiatives with the perspective of a solid commitment to follow through; each task completed in its own time.
Robert has spent over 38 years working as a glass artist including serving at Pilchuck Glass School as technical and assistant director in the mid-70's. In 1978, he founded Glass Eye Studio, a glass manufacturing company in Seattle. After 11 years, he sold the business, continuing to design and direct production of over 120 new products annually until 2000 when he moved to Whidbey Island. In 1997 he, finished construction of his glass studio, producing his own artwork and collaborating with other artists on production of glass giftware and lighting. Robert has served on a number of boards and councils benefitting the arts, and was a consultant to several glass companies in the northwest. A former Peace Corps volunteer, Robert worked with land use reform, fishing, agriculture, and arts development. He has been a major donor and supporter of setting aside open space for our community's future benefit and enjoyment.
